Why This Programme

China offers one of the clearest live contexts for understanding how STEM moves from theory into industrial systems. From applied AI and robotics to smart manufacturing, mobility, and infrastructure, participants explore how ideas are tested, scaled, and embedded into everyday life.

This programme helps participants move beyond classroom concepts to see how engineering, technology, policy, and market demand work together in real-world innovation ecosystems.

What We Do

A 7-day STEM-focused field programme across Beijing and Shenzhen, examining China’s technological development, urban transformation, and innovation ecosystems.

Through 5 Academic Workshops and 4 Industry Visits, students explore engineering principles, AI applications, robotics, smart manufacturing, and mobility innovation. The programme includes engagement with leading companies such as Xiaomi, JD.com, DJI, and EHang, alongside structured inquiry into how policy, infrastructure, and digital systems support large-scale technological growth.

Key Takeaways

  • See how engineering, AI, smart devices, mobility, and automation move from classroom concepts into working products and systems.

  • Understand how companies use supply chains, infrastructure, and digital systems to scale technology rapidly.

  • Explore how smart devices, logistics, electric vehicles, and aerial mobility are reshaping how people live, move, and connect.

  • Explore how Beijing’s heritage and Shenzhen’s innovation ecosystem reveal the relationship between history, urban change, and technological development.
